15-Day Old Aston Martin DB11 Crashes In Mexico

Carrying a price tag of 4.5 million pesos – or just under $240,000 – the Aston Martin DB11 is one of the most expensive cars on the streets of Mexico. But that didn't stop the owner, who some allege is the mayor of Pilcaya, from crashing it into a Fiat 500 just 15 days after collecting their new ride. According to Mexican outlet Lopezdoriga, the accident occurred on the Viaduct Rio Becerra in the Benito Juarez region, and – shock, horror! – was the result of the DB11 driver speeding. With a 600-horsepower 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 at their disposal, while it might be hard to launch off the line, it's pretty hard not to speed in the sumptuous grand tourer. A local journalist, Dario Alvardo, claims the driver of the DB11 was indeed the mayor of Pilcaya, Ellery Guadalupe Figueroa Macedo, presumably because he's one of the few people in the city who could afford one. However, this is being vehemently denied. The mayor said: "If they prove to me that I was driving the vehicle or that it is my property or some personal property, I resign." Either way, the DB11 looks to be in a pretty bad state. The front right wheel was dislodged from the car, and the passenger side front quarter panel is also seriously damaged. Poor Aston.
