Elon Musk Wants To Merge Computers With Human Brains

If there's one consistent thing you can say about Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk it's that he's never running low on big ideas. According to The Wall Street Journal and Automotive News, Musk has just launched a new company called Neuralink Corp., which seeks to merge computers with human brains. Yes, really. The new company is focusing on what Musk calls "neural lace" technology, which consists of implanting tiny brain electrodes that could upload and download thoughts. The Journal claims Neuralink was registered as a company last July in California. Supposedly, its focus is "medical research." How is this related to cars, other than Musk also founding Tesla? Well, think about it: What if said electrodes are implanted into your brain and are then "wired" to your car, which could then download your thoughts, such as musical preferences or specific destinations. In turn, your car would then upload responses, according to your earlier thoughts/commands. It all sounds pretty sci-fi at the moment, but remember, only 15 years ago autonomous cars were featured in Steven Spielberg's "Minority Report," set in 2054. Autonomous tech will arrive much sooner than that.
