We Drove From Bahrain to Dubai With Supercars Club Arabia And Loved Every Minute Of It

Feb. 28, 2017 9:30 AM ET by Adam Lynton / 8 Comments Border crossings in Saudi Arabia, police choppers, donuts in an Aventador, and arriving in Dubai in a LaFerrari, this trip had it all. When Supercars Club Arabia invited CarBuzz to join its latest rally across the Arabian Gulf, we didn't have to think about it. The chance to join a convoy of stunning supercars on a once-in-a-lifetime road trip from Bahrain to Dubai was simply too good to pass up on. From driving in Saudi Arabia where the speed bumps had been removed so we could hit over 200 mph on the highway, to driving from Abu Dhabi to Dubai in a LaFerrari, the seven-day adventure was filled with unforgettable moments. More than the amazing roads and racing circuits we got to drive on. More than the amazing hotels we spent precious hours resting at. And more than the exotic locations we got to spend some time in. It was the camaraderie of the SCA that left the greatest impression on me. If you've ever thought of joining a car rally, you want to do it with these guys. It was a phenomenal few days, and while the club's talented videographers will soon release a quality video of the tour, we've knocked up this rough and ready video that should put a smile on your face. A massive thanks to the top guys who run the Supercars Club Arabia, especially Auf Al Delaimi and Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Kahlifa; to the support crew (Kahled, Hussain and Ahmed) for looking after us throughout the tour; to Ahmed Al Noaimi for letting me chuck his Aventador around the track; to Zakariya Al Abdulqader for inviting us into his home; and to Jeff and Deepak, two Canadian gents who kindly let me ride shotgun in their 458 Spider and 911 GT2. A big thanks also to Mohammed Alshrouqi (@mz_pic) for providing some wonderful images of the rally and to Qais for driving me to Dubai in his LaFerrari. The next tour is happening in the summer, and will take place in either the USA or Europe. Get in touch with SCA if you want to come along. You won't be disappointed.
