During fifth-gen Camaro Z/28 testing, the development team noticed a hot spot on the car's radiator during prolonged track sessions. One of the propulsion engineers decided to cut-out the middle of the Chevrolet bowtie and see if that made a difference. Well, it did, and thus the "flowtie" was born, first appearing on the grille of the 2014 Camaro Z/28, before showing up again on the 2018 Camaro ZL1. Now a third model has gained the special, high-flow bow-and it's just a tad bit bigger. Chevrolet Chevrolet's new Silverado 4500HD, 5500HD, 6500HD adopt a novel new version of the brand's badge that brings the same cooling benefits to the big bruisers. Just like vital engine temperatures will spike during prolonged track use, fluids will also begin to boil under the stressful loads these trucks are capable of carrying, so any additional cooling aid is welcomed. Chevy introduced the new chassis-cab trucks early last month with an emphasis on better usability and easier servicing for the latest models. The redesigned front end allegedly gives better downward visibility, while 50-degree wheel cuts allow for tighter turning, too. A fiberglass tilt hood allows for better access during service calls. Inside, drivers benefit from modern amenities like wireless cell phone charging, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. All of these pickups come with a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel engine making 350 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque. Shoppers will have the choice between two- and four-wheel-drive configurations, along with multiple chassis lengths and rear air suspension.
