GMC Introduces AT4 Sub-Brand On 2019 Sierra In New York

Mar. 26, 2018 5:59 PM ET by Mark Stevenson Reveal / 20 Comments New off-road focused sub-brand will spread to all other models in GMC lineup. GMC on Monday night revealed an all new trim level for Sierra and sub-brand for GMC two days before the start of the 2018 New York International Auto Show. The all-new AT4 trim introduces a more off-road ready package for the recently redesigned Sierra line, which includes a 2-inch suspension lift and vertically mounted, red-painted tow hooks up front. It's no Raptor, but it's not meant to be. Instead, this is the truck for those who want to blaze a trail without the need to traverse over desert dunes at 100 mph. All 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 models will be fitted with the aforementioned 2-inch lift, four-wheel drive with two-speed transfer case, locking rear differential, skid plates, and all-terrain tires wrapped around 18- or 20-inch machined-face wheels. Hill Descent Control and Traction Select System will also be standard on the new truck. AT4 will be available with either the 5.3- or 6.2-liter V8 gasoline engines or the new 3.0-liter inline-6 turbodiesel. GMC's designers have removed all the Sierra's chrome brightwork and replaced it with body-color or black chrome pieces to give it a more "murdered out" look. GMC's new MultiPro tailgate is standard. Inside, Sierra AT4 also wears darker trim pieces and AT4-branded leather seats. "The 2019 Sierra AT4 is designed for the customer who wants an elevated presence on the road and the capability to venture off life's beaten path," said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global GMC. "It's also the beginning for the AT4 brand, which will be seen on every vehicle in our lineup in the next two years." GMC did not disclose which model will next be available with an AT4 package. The 2019 GMC Sierra and the new AT4 model will arrive at dealers this fall. Gmc Gmc
