We Will Finally See The Rolls-Royce Cullinan On May 10th

May. 02, 2018 2:00 PM ET by Michael Accardi / 5 Comments Rolls-Royce's first SUV is finally coming. After a grueling final validation that took it to every corner of the globe in search of the most punishing conditions, Rolls-Royce has announced it will debut its first SUV, the Cullinan, on May 10 at 7:00 am Eastern Time. The company remains tight lipped about the specifics surrounding the "most luxurious crossover in the world," but has revealed a few choice details regarding the launch of the Cullinan next week. This is the company's first ever SUV, so this launch is a big deal for the British automaker. The Cullinan will be unveiled as part of an exhibition detailing the extraordinary hand-craftsmanship applied to the newest Rolls-Royce. A series of images captured by distinguished portrait photographer, Cat Garcia, in collaboration with Leica Camera, will be showcased during London Craft Week. According to Rolls-Royce, the images will take viewers inside the home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, West Sussex, revealing the typical artistry the company puts into all of its products. The images, captured exclusively on the flagship Leica SL, will show the men and women who proudly toil day in and day out building the "high-bodied car." Rolls-Royce We already know, largely, what the Cullinan will look like. The SUV will follow in the footsteps of the Phantom with an iconic grille topped by the Spirit of Ecstasy, flanked by rectangular headlights. Like the Phantom, the Cullinan has strong shoulders and suicide rear doors. The Cullinan is expected to ride on an aluminum space-frame platform called the "Architecture of Luxury," which originally debuted under the new Phantom. The Cullinan is also expected to use the same twin-turbo 6.75-liter V12 engine as the Phantom, look for at least 563 hp and 663 lb-ft of torque, hooked to an eight-speed automatic which routes power to a specially-developed all-wheel drive system.
