This Is The Brand New Aston Martin DB4 Seriously

Two years ago, Aston Martin announced that its historical division would build 25 brand new DB4 GT Continuation cars and sell them for $1.9 million a pop. Aston Martin Works at Newport Pagnell would build an updated version of the GT, while all buyers would be included in a high-performance driving program specifically crafted to help the lucky few hone their skills in these oxymoronically modern vintage racers. Fast forward to this past weekend, and the first five customers took their cars for an inaugural drive at the legendary Silverstone Circuit in England. The event also kicked off a two-year international track driving program led by Aston Martin Works held at many the world's finest race tracks, the first being Silverstone. As a treat for the Silverstone participants, Aston Martin brought along three time Le Mans class winner Darren Turner to offer special guidance to the new owners. Turner was also heavily involved in the development and testing of the DB4 GT so he brought unique knowledge of how to maximize the reincarnated race cars. Just like the original lightweight DB4 GTs from the late 1950's and early '60s all 25 of the new GTs were built at the Aston Martin Works facility in Newport Pagnell, which can be found in England's motorsport mecca, Milton Keynes. The new cars feature a 3.7-liter straight-six good for 374 horsepower which is hooked to a four-speed manual transmission that feeds power through a limited-slip differential. They aren't street-legal, either. DB4 GT Continuation customers will next drive their cars on 21 June at Europe's fastest racing circuit, Rockingham Motor Speedway, before moving onto the world famous Le Mans Circuit on 27 July.
