This Lotus Evora GT410 Sport Was Built For Colin Chapman' s Son

The UK sports car company, which has had its share of ups and downs over the decades, is finally in the upswing, thanks to its new parent company Geely. There's now consistent cash flow and new Lotus sports cars are on their way. Aside from all of that, this is also the 70th anniversary of when late founder Colin Chapman built his first car, so it's only appropriate for his son, Clive, to be part of the festivities. Clive Chapman is clearly a Lotus guy, and he's just taken delivery of a new Evora GT410 Sport, hand-built specifically for him at the firm's Hethel facility. Speaking when the younger Chapman took delivery, Lotus CEO Jean-Marc Gales stated that "With 2018 marking the 70th anniversary of Colin Chapman's first car, it's the perfect time for both us and Classic Team Lotus to join in celebrating the importance of the marque. The Evora GT410 Sport is one of our most evolved models yet remains true to the concepts of lightweight design, advanced aerodynamics and high-speed handling, exactly as Colin Chapman would have expected from one of his cars. "It's fitting that Clive has chosen to drive one of the greatest and fastest cars that Hethel has ever produced." Powered by a supercharged 3.5-liter V6 with 410 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque, the Evora GT410 Sport can do 0-60 mph in a mere 3.9 seconds, or 4 seconds flat when equipped with a manual gearbox; the optional six-speed automatic with a Torsen type limited slip diff, is slightly quicker through the gears. "Remaining close to the Lotus sports cars of today is important to me and my family; to be able to appreciate just how far the brand has developed and how advanced the cars are is a privilege, said Clive Chapman.
