Someone Already Selling New Chevy Corvette ZR1 For Nearly $200K

Apr. 22, 2018 11:01 AM ET by Jay Traugott / 26 Comments Well, that didn't take long. There's no reason to be surprised here because it was bound to happen sooner or later. And now it has. CorvetteBlogger was recently digging around Cars.com and, lo and behold, found a nearly new 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 up for sale. The example you're looking at is a Torch Red ZR1 equipped with the ZTK Performance Package. It has a mere 283 miles on its clock. With a starting MSRP of $119,995, the Corvette ZR1's price tag will quickly increase once various option packages are tacked on, such as the ZTK pack. Other options include racing wheels and tires, all track cameras and electronic calculators, red brake calipers, black side mirrors, and a carbon fiber steering wheel. It also has the optional 8-speed automatic transmission and the Sebring Orange Package. Add it all up, the price tag comes to $137,310. So is that what it's now being sold for? Of course not. The seller has set an asking price of $198,000. CorvetteBlogger further adds this is the most expensive 2019 ZR1 listing it has seen so far. Typically, the mark-ups come from Chevrolet dealerships, which really isn't all that surprising. Will this private seller actually get nearly $61,000 over MSRP? We doubt it. Even though dealer allocation, at times may be a bit tight, it's not impossible to walk into a showroom and place an order for the most powerful (755 hp) street-legal Corvette of all time. But if you are interested in this particular Corvette, take note that the seller has not listed the car's VIN, which is kind of odd. Clearly, the seller is simply interested in making a profit here as opposed to breaking even. Chevrolet Chevrolet Chevrolet Chevrolet
