Porsche Just Got Raided For Diesel Cheating

Apr. 19, 2018 5:20 PM ET by Michael Accardi / 1 Comment New developments from Germany. Fresh off Porsche's recent rekindling with diesel, German prosecutors announced they are further investigating current and former employees of Porsche, including a management board member. According to Reuters, 10 premises in Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg were searched by around 160 government officials from Stuttgart. It was originally believed Porsche would be spared from investigations as it doesn't develop its own diesel technology. The searches are part of an investigation into employees of Porsche suspected of committingfraudand disseminating fraudulent advertising as a result of manipulated emissions control tests, which made diesel vehicles look like they emitted less C02 than they actually did. "The three suspects include a member of the management board and a member of Porsche AG's higher management. The third suspect is no longer employed at Porsche AG," German officials said. A spokesman for Porsche confirmed the searches but declined to provide further details. The most recent investigation comes more than 2-1/2 years after Volkswagen admitted to cheating emissions tests on diesel engines in the United States. Porsche German prosecutors have been hard at work probing sister brand Audi, which was responsible for the development of the VW Group's 3.0 liter V6 diesel engine, subsequently sold in roughly 80,000 VW, Audi and Porsche models. Two Audi sites were also searched on Wednesday. Porsche Porsche Porsche Porsche Porsche Porsche Porsche
