Brabus Packed 591 Horsepower Into This Mercedes GLC

Aug. 17, 2018 10:30 AM ET by Noah Joseph / 2 Comments Supercar power and performance in a compact luxury crossover The GLC may be smaller than most of the models that Mercedes-Benz makes. But that hasn't stopped Brabus from packing a whole lot of power in there.
The latest Benz to receive the benefit of the tuner's attention, the Brabus 600 Compact SUV boasts a massive 591 horsepower and an equally impressive 590 lb-ft of torque. This from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that already produces 510 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque in the standard AMG GLC 63. The result: a 0-62 time of just 3.6 seconds and a top speed that had to be electronically limited to 186 mph. Brabus Those would have been considered supercar numbers not long ago, but Brabus has pulled them out of a compact crossover. And as you might have guessed, it hasn't stopped there. To go with the PowerXtra B40 600 performance upgrade, Brabus has also fitted its modified GLC with a custom, electronically variable stainless-steel exhaust system with quadruple tips. The Brabus 600 can also be fitted with wheels ranging from 19 to 22 inches in diameter, but this one wears 21-inch monoblock alloys, fitted to an air suspension dropped by 30 millimeters (about 1.2 inches). Brabus The aftermarket firm based near Düsseldorf has also equipped its take on the GLC with a full carbon-fiber aero kit to give it a more aggressive look and further optimize airflow. And it offers a full range of interior customization as well, including its own leather upholstery, Alcantara trim, wood veneer, carbon fiber, and aluminum pedals and paddles. Like what you see? Brabus can hook you up with a GLC so equipped in either standard or slant-back "coupe" bodystyles. And it'll perform all (or any part) of the conversions on pre-existing vehicles, too.
