Chevrolet Adds New 6 2-Liter V8 Special Editions For Tahoe And Suburban

Aug. 14, 2018 3:25 PM ET by Jared Rosenholtz / 12 Comments The people asked for power, so Chevy delivered. Last year, Chevrolet introduced special edition versions of the Tahoe and Suburban called the RST. The RST replaced the 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8 with a more powerful 6.2-liter mill with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Customers loved the additional power, and the 6.2-liter engine now accounts for 36% of all overall Tahoe and Suburban sales. In order to capitalize on its customer's clear love of power and torque, Chevy has now introduced a new special edition called the Premier Plus for the Tahoe and Suburban. Chevrolet Like the RST, the Premier Plus will be powered by a 6.2-liter V8 mated to a 10-speed automatic. This new special edition will also come with GM's Magnetic Ride Control suspension. The RST was meant to be an aggressive sport trim, but the Premier Plus will have more of a luxury feel. On the inside, luxury touches include heated and ventilated black or mahogany leather seats combined with black trim surrounds. In addition to the upscale two-tone interior, the Premier Plus comes with 22-inch polished wheels, a first for a full-size Chevy SUV. Chevrolet On the outside, the blacked out trim of the RST is replaced by gold Chevrolet "bowtie" logos, chrome badging, cross rails, chrome power steps and exhaust tips. The 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe Premier Plus starts at $74,100 plus a $1,295 destination charge, while the 2019 Chevrolet Suburban Premier Plus starts at $76,900 plus a $1,295 destination charge. The first 5,000 customers to order the car through the Costco member incentive can save $4,500 off the price. Hennessey Performance Chevrolet Chevrolet
