This Is The Ten-Millionth Ford Mustang Before You' re Meant To See It

After being on sale since 1964, the iconic Ford Mustang has reached a major production milestone. According to Motor1, the ten-millionth Mustang has rolled off the assembly line at Ford's Flat Rock plant in Michigan and will be unveiled at a special ceremony on Wednesday, August 8th. But you don't have to wait until then to see it, because Evan J. Smith, the editor of Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords magazine, has posted some leaked photos on Instagram allegedly showing the milestone Mustang ahead of its official reveal. From the photos, the ten-millionth Mustang is a convertible model finished in white. Like the standard model, under the hood is Ford's 5.0-liter Coyote V8 that delivers 460 horsepower. No options are mentioned in the Instagram post, but all GT Convertibles come in Premium trim, which includes leather climate-controlled seats with Ford's SYNC 3 system and nine-speaker stereo system. Considering this is a commemorative model celebrating a major production milestone, it looks oddly discrete in plain white. To the untrained eye, it looks like any other standard 2018 Ford Mustang convertible. Smith noted this particular Mustang is finished in Wimbledon White, which isn't currently available for 2019 models. The very first Mustang ever sold was a pre-production convertible finished in the same shade of white, which makes sense for this special model. That isn't to be confused with the first retail Mustang sold, though, which was a blue 1965 model. Intriguingly, the Instagram post also includes the hashtag "#notforsale," implying the commemorative muscle car won't be available to buy and will be kept by Ford. If you want to see it in the metal, Motor1 claims the car will be on display at the Woodward Dream Cruise classic car event in Detroit on August 18th. 40,000 cars will be on display, and Ford just happens to be sponsoring the event.
