Mercedes Reveals Electric EQC' s Flashy Interior

With less than a week until the world debut of the EQC, the teaser campaign for Mercedes' first ever pure electric vehicle is starting to gain significant traction. A few days ago, the automaker gave us a glimpse of the electric SUV's sleek-looking headlights. Since then, Mercedes has shared two more tantalizing teasers on social media. The first shows the EQC's rear end, revealing a full-width light bar connecting the taillights with the Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star positioned below. We also get a first look at the Mercedes EQC's interior in the latest teaser. While the dashboard still has physical buttons, the infotainment and digital instrument cluster have been combined into one all-encompassing wide display, giving the cabin a cleaner look. Replacing the old COMAND infotainment system is Mercedes' new Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) system first introduced in the new A-Class, which will eventually become standard on all future models. The technology includes a natural language voice recognition system that uses an intelligent AI system to respond to voice commands. The cabin also has conventional air vents, piano trim and vibrant ambient lighting. From recent spy shots, the production Mercedes EQC's design will look similar to the Generation EQ concept that debuted in Paris two years ago. Specifications are being kept under warps, but the concept had a pair of electric motors delivering a combined 402 hp, 516 lb-ft, and a range of over 300 miles thanks to a 70 kWh lithium-ion battery.
