GMC Sierra 1500 Diesel Specs Leaked

We've known for almost a year that GM's new half-ton trucks, the Chevrolet Silverado, and GMC Sierra, would be getting a new 3.0-liter Duramax diesel engine like its rivals the Ram 1500, and Ford F-150. The company has been hushed on specs as it rolled out the gasoline version of the new trucks, but the specs have now leaked thanks to a Canadian dealer website. GMC According to screenshots sent to TFL Truck, the 3.0-liter Duramax engine available in the Sierra should produce 282 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque while offering up 28 mpg of highway efficiency. The baby Duramax engine will come paired with new GM's 10-speed automatic transmission. The raw engine specs are actually class leading as Ford's 3.0-liter PowerStroke diesel manages 250 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque, while last time the Ram EcoDiesel was available if offered 240 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. Chevrolet The information indicates the 2019 GMC Sierra with the 3.0-liter Duramax will be capable of towing up to 7,800 pounds, which should be the same figure as the 2019 Silverado. Regarding specifics unique to the Sierra, the 3.0-liter Duramax diesel will be offered as an option on SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4 and Denali trims. Additionally, the SLE and Elevation will be offered with the company's new 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine as standard equipment, while the SLT, AT4 and Denali come stock with a 5.3-liter V8. There's also an optional 6.2-liter V8 available on AT4, and Denali models. Pricing isn't available at this time, look for that and more concrete details regarding its deployment in the Silverado to become available closer to the engine's market arrival in the early part of 2019.
