Ferrari Will Launch 15 New Models By 2022 – Most Of Them Will Be Hybrids

Ferrari is planning a massive product onslaught in the next few years. During an investors meeting outlining its future plans, the automaker announced it will launch 15 new models by 2022 under the guidance of Louis Carey Camilleri, including the company's first ever hybrid SUV. According to Automotive News, around 60 percent of new Ferrari models will feature hybrid technology. Part of this line-up will include a new V6 hybrid powertrain, which Ferrari confirmed is currently in development. It will most likely be used in the new entry-level model rumored to revive the Dino name. Ferrari Purists shouldn't be worried though, because Ferrari will still produce naturally aspirated V12 units and ultra-exclusive limited edition models like the Monza SP1 and SP2 showcased at a private event this week. Based on the 812 Superfast, both cars are the work of Ferrari's Special Projects division and are inspired by vintage Ferrari race cars like the 250 Testa Rossa. Pricing details will be revealed at the Paris Auto Show, but if previous special edition Ferraris are anything to go by they will probably command a price exceeding seven figures. The average retail price of Ferrari's new models will also increase "significantly" according to Ferrari's head of sales, Enrico Galliiera, with the aim to double profits from €1 billion ($1.16 billion) to €2 billion ($2.38 billion) by 2022. No doubt the new Ferrari SUV will help significantly boost profits, too. Ferrari Within the next four years, Ferrari's range will comprise of four classes: Sports, GT, Special Series and Icona, with the latter reserved for limited edition models like the Monza. A new mid-engined model will join the 488, 488 Spider and 812 Superfast in the Sports range, which is said to be a "real supercar in the standard range" with "more performance than a LaFerrari." Every model in the Sports range will have a hybrid powertrain by 2022 and benefit from the technology developed by Ferrari's F1 team. A LaFerrari successor is also already in development but won't arrive until after 2022. If you're a Ferrari fan, there are very exciting times ahead.
