Nissan Will Bless Us With At Least One Next-Generation GT-R Concept

In fact, we recently learned that one of Nissan's main goals is to build the fastest car in the world. Or, at the very least, the fastest in its segment. If that's the goal, time and technology are required. Fortunately, the current GT-R is still more than holding its own, despite being launched way back in 2007. Impressive. But what ought to be very impressive is the design direction of the next GT-R. It's still very much a mystery at the moment, but Indian Autos Blog has learned from Nissan Vice President for Global Design Alfonso Albaisa that the automaker will unveil a GT-R concept sometime before the production version arrives. The answer came during a roundtable discussion where Albaisa was asked specifically whether we can expect that concept. His response: "Naturally." During our own conversations with Albaisa, we know him to be a man of his word. Unfortunately, he did not offer a specific time as to when we can expect that concept. Aside from its design, the big question surrounding the next GT-R is whether it'll be a fully-fledged electric or a hybrid? Again, Nissan is staying mum on the subject. What we can guarantee is that it won't be a solely internal combustion setup. The current car's twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 with up to 590 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque will die along with the car itself, it's time and purpose will have come to an end. Nissan
