Ford Wants You To Look At These SEMA Mustangs
Oct. 15, 2018 8:11 AM ET by Michael Accardi SEMA 2018 / 3 Comments Look, the company is still cool! With SEMA just around the corner, Ford has taken the opportunity to show some of the gear the company is helping to showcase at the annual aftermarket tradeshow. Ford says it will have the "largest original equipment manufacturer display" this year, along with plans to bring more than 50 vehicles to Las Vegas. Chief among the vehicles will be five customized Mustangs. First up is an effort from Galpin Auto Sports. Starting with a 2018 Mustang GT, the modified pony car gets a new widebody kit, plus more aesthetic additions like a new front splitter, side skirts, and a rear diffuser. On the mechanical front, the car will be sporting a retuned suspension including new springs, shocks, and sway bars sourced from Ford Performance. The 5.0-liter V8 has been equipped with a Ford Performance/Roush supercharger, and a cat-back exhaust system. Power is routed to the ground via a six-speed manual transmission with a short-throw shifter. Ford Next up is the CJ Pony Parts "Smoke Show" which, according to the company, was designed exclusively for drifting. It's quite hardcore with a dark shadow gray exterior paint job, copper accents, and a stars and stripes livery. The CJ car also sports an Anderson Composites wide-body kit, a Roush Performance front splitter and HRE FF04 satin gold wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires. This GT coupe also gets new Ford Performance lowering springs, UPR independent rear suspension upgrades, a new supercharger, a short-throw shifter, a Watson Racing roll cage, and a cat-back exhaust with carbon fiber tips. Ford Third on the docket is the CGS Motorsports Mustang GT with a custom widebody kit by TS Designs. Adding a dash of flash are new Diode Dynamics LED lighting units, and it rolls on new 22-inch wheels with big ol' six-piston Brembo calipers and 16.1-inch rotors behind. The car also gets Ford Performance springs and a sway bar, as well as a Roush supercharger and a cat-back exhaust system with carbon fiber tips. The only turbo on the list is the TJIN Edition EcoBoost Mustang. It rocks an RTR body kit slathered in Electric Purple paint, and rolls around on 20-inch shoes. The 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine gets an upgraded BorgWarner turbocharger, a cat-back exhaust system, plus a new intercooler, manifold, downpipe and charge pipes. Lastly, there's an Air Lift suspension, and Baer Grizzlie front brakes. Ford The final car on the list is the Bojix Design Mustang GT with a eye-catching blue exterior and an APR carbon fiber front splitter. Completing the exterior aesthetics is a a rear wing and 20-inch Savini SV67 wheels wrapped in Nitto NT05 tires. Differing from the other 5.0s on the list, the Bojix car gets a supercharger from Prochrger, with a house-made exhaust system featuring Borla mufflers. It also gets a big set of Brembos and a reworked suspension, with springs, shocks and sway bars sourced from Ford Performance. Join The Discussion
