Take A Look At The All-New Range Rover Evoque' s Exquisite Interior

Oct. 13, 2018 12:25 PM ET by Martin Bigg Spy Shots / 6 Comments The new Range Rover Evoque is shaping up to be a baby Velar – and that's not a bad thing. A prototype of the new second-generation Range Rover Evoque has once again been spotted by our spy photographers lapping the Nurburgring. This time the prototype has shed some camouflage, giving us a better look at the front fascia and hidden door handles. As expected, the new Range Rover Evoque looks like a baby version of the Velar, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Its stylish looks should help it become a strong seller and stand out against its more conservative-looking German rivals like the BMW X3 and Audi Q5. CarBuzz CarBuzz CarBuzz We also get a first look at the new Range Rover Evoque's exquisite interior, where the Velar's cues continue as the prototype features the same digital instrument cluster and head-up display. The next-generation model will also be slightly larger than its predecessor, leaving room for a new smaller sibling to possibly join the line-up. This may explain why the Evoque will only be available in two body styles this time since the three-door version has been axed, leaving us with the five-door version and convertible. It's already been confirmed the next-generation Range Rover Evoque will be based on a modified version of the current model's D8 platform to create more cabin space. Let's hope this also reduces the weight to improve handling and fuel efficiency. Thanks to the modified platform, the new Evoque will also be the first model to utilize Land Rover's new hybrid powertrain combining a three-cylinder 1.5-liter Ingenium engine with a small electric motor powered by a 48V battery, though it isn't expected to be ready until the early part of the next decade. The non-hybrid version is expected to debut early next year. CarBuzz CarBuzz
