Ferrari F40 Redesigned As Stunning Modern-Day Supercar

Nov. 13, 2018 10:10 AM ET by Martin Bigg / 9 Comments What if the F40 was built today with Ferrari's current design language? Without question, the Ferrari F40 is one of the most iconic and influential supercars of all time. Built to celebrate Ferrari's 40th anniversary in 1987, the F40 was the world's fastest street-legal production car at the time and remained the brand's fastest, most powerful and most expensive model for several years. It was also the last model that was overseen by Enzo Ferrari. If that didn't already make the F40 a significant supercar, it was also the first series production model to have a body predominantly built from composite materials. The Pininfarina design remains one of the most iconic in Ferrari's history. But what one of the world's most recognizable supercars look like if Ferrari built the F40 today? To find out, artist Samir Sadikhov has designed a modern-day version of the F40 using Ferrari's current design language. The result is simply stunning - Sadikhov has done an incredible job evoking the spirit of the original F40 while bringing it up to date for the 21st century. Sadikhov's passion project took over a year to finish, which isn't surprising when you look at the amount of work that's clearly been poured into it. Even the monocoque structure has been designed in painstaking detail. It looks so authentic that it wouldn't look out of place in Ferrari's current model line-up. Sadly, this 21st century Ferrari F40 tribute isn't being built for real unless someone very rich commissions the design to Pininfarina or Ferrari to produce it as a special one-off. Samir Sadikhov
