Hennessey Shows What 1 000-HP Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Can Do

There's no need for a 700-hp SUV like this to exist, but we're sure as hell glad that it does. We experienced this beast last January, in a snowstorm mind you, when we covered the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. Driving it around town for a week following the show was both a privilege and an exercise of self-control. There were 700 ponies to try out, but with cops in the area and no time to hit a local track, we never experienced what the hi-po SUV really has to offer. Hennessey Performance didn't have that problem. It's based in Texas and right now there's precisely zero snow on the ground. Hennessey Performance Jeep Hennessey also just so happens to have a few upgrade kits for the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, but it's the HPE1000 Supercharged upgrade that's being demonstrated here today. Total output: 1,012 hp and 969 lb-ft of torque. A 4.5-liter supercharger system producing 14 psi boost is partially responsible for that madness. Zero to 60 mph takes only 2.7 seconds and it can do the quarter-mile in 10.7 seconds at 132 mph. It's really too bad we didn't make it down to Texas, or anywhere else down south for that matter, to experience 700 hp, let alone over 1,000.
