Apollo IE Is Nearly Finished And These Stunning New Photos Are Proof

This coming March it'll have been three years since the Apollo Arrow hypercar concept made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Since then, the boutique supercar company has continued to make progress getting the Arrow, since been renamed the Intensa Emozione or IE, ready for production. Development is ongoing, evidenced by a pair of IE prototypes spending a few days on track at the Lausitzring Circuit in Germany. Working alongside its technical partner, HWA, Apollo's main goal during those testing days was to further collect and analyze thermal and aerodynamics data. At the same time, the in-depth analysis also took place regarding various engineering advancements Apollo plans to implement in the production version, due to arrive sometime next year. What do we know about the upcoming production version? Quite a bit, actually. For starters, power will come from a naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V12 tuned to around 780 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque. The engine will rev all the way up to 9,000 rpm. If this engine's details sound familiar to you then you're right. It's been sourced from the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Power will be sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox operated with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Total weight comes to around 2,756 pounds, though this will likely change once the production version arrives. The final figure won't be that different because the IE features a lightweight carbon fiber monocoque and many other weight-saving components. Acceleration? As of now, Apollo claims a 0-62 mph time of 2.7 seconds. Based on the details already announced by Apollo and these latest photos, it sure sounds like an official debut will happen earlier rather than later in 2019. Our best guess is Geneva in March. It seems only fitting for the Apollo IE to make its global debut alongside the likes of Pagani and Koenigsegg at one of the best annual supercar-focused events. George F.
