There was a time not so long ago when the Buick Encore subcompact crossover was the surprise sales success for the premium brand. Considering it's a heavily rebadged Chevrolet Trax, itself a well-regarded crossover, the Encore brought new customers to Buick despite its price hike over the Chevy. However, Encore sales have hit a slump as of late. As GM Authority points out, Encore sales were down by 5.88 percent to 21,112 units in the third quarter of this year. By contrast, sales were up by 7.7 percent to 69,747 units in the first nine months of this year. Why the sales drop? There's no specific reason so far, but Buick isn't taking any chances as it prepares to close out the year. Buick GM As such, the automaker is now offering two very good sales incentives for this month and we wouldn't be surprised to see them continue for the last two months of 2018, though we have no way of knowing until November and December get underway.
