This Very Rare Achingly Beautiful Aston Martin Is Up For Sale

Based on the DB11, the DBS Suplergerra packs s 5.2-liter, twin-turbo V12 dialled up to 715 hp, more aggressive styling, and extensive use of carbon fiber panels that brings the weight down to just 3,732 pounds. The Vanquish nameplate may be revived for Aston Martin's future mid-engine Ferrari 488 rival, but if you're still fond of the old model, an opportunity has arisen to own a very special example. Last year, Aston Martin teamed up with Zagato to produce a limited run of coachbuilt Vanquish Speedsters. Only 28 were made, and they sold out very fast, but one of them is currently up for sale on JamesEdition via German dealer Mechatronik. It's finished in grey and only has 11 miles on the clock, so it's practically fresh out of the factory. Considering its rarity and condition, the astronomical asking price shouldn't come as a surprise - the dealer is asking for €1,499,000 (around $1.7 million) for this stunning Speedster. Unlike the new DBS, which is built on a brand-new platform, the Vanquish is based on ancient architecture dating back to 2001 when the first-generation model debuted. Under the hood is a 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 that pumps out 595 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, which is less than the 715 hp and 664 lb-ft you get in the new DBS Superleggera. Then again, the new owner probably won't care since this is arguably one of the most beautiful Aston Martins ever made.
