This Custom Land Rover Defender Packs A Corvette V8

Apr. 27, 2019 11:00 AM ET by Martin Bigg Tuning / Comments The luxurious interior is also on another level. Land Rover will lift the wraps off the all-new Defender this September, which has prompted companies to revive the old classic model after it was discontinued in 2016. Polish specialist Land Serwis recently unveiled it reborn Land Rover Defender, and now East Coast Defender has revealed its new Corvette-powered custom Defender 90 that "flawlessly fuses American muscle with a classic, off-road British icon." Named Project Grey Goose, the custom Defender 90 packs a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine that produces 430 horsepower, paired with a 6-speed automatic. That's more than enough power for a lightweight off-roader like the Defender 90. As well as being powerful, the LS3 engine is also very reliable and is backed by a 2-year/50,000 mile warranty from GM. Finished in classic Bonatti Grey metallic paint, E.C.D. says the simplicity of the exterior of Project Grey Goose makes it more reminiscent of a heritage Defender, combined with subtle modern features such as rear panoramic glass and a sunroof. This isn't the first time a tuner has stuffed a Corvette V8 into a classic Defender, but the luxurious interior sets E.C.D.'s Corvette-powered Defender apart. The Project Grey Goose's cabin has been thoroughly modernized thanks to Premium Italian Spinneybeck leather in Cervo Black Sasso Nero with white diamond stitching. A custom monogram on the headrests of the front seats offers a personal touch by the client. Technology features in Project Grey Goose include wireless charging for mobile devices, USB ports in the front and rear of the center console, back-up camera, and an amplified sound system from JL Audio. "One of the things we do best here at E.C.D. is combining luxury and utility - a heritage look on the exterior of the truck with modern luxury throughout the interior," said Elliot Humble, co-founder of E.C.D. Automotive Design.
