The unnamed project is the vision of one Taekang Lee, the same artist whose Ferrari hot hatch and Alfa big-rig we featured previously. This time Lee's applied his talents to the form of a slinky two-door Alfa, which he's released in both road and race versions. And though it looks a little narrow and upright for our liking, the rest of the design strikes us as pretty convincing: curvaceous yet muscular, and uniquely Italian. It could be just the thing to take on the likes of the new Toyota Supra, Nissan 370Z, and more upscale challengers like the BMW Z4, Infiniti Q60, and Jaguar F-Type. And though it's clearly a very different vehicle, it'd follow the 4C and 8C nicely as the sportiest, most focused member of Alfa's lineup. Call it the 6C, then, for all intents and purposes – especially if it adopted the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 that powers the Quadrifoglio-spec Giulia and Stelvio to the tune of 503 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. That'd be more than enough to out-class most of its rivals – but not enough to pose a serious threat to the likes of the Ferrari Portofino or a potential new Maserati sports coupe. But that'd be assuming that both Alfa and Maser would produce such a vehicle in the kind of Italian sports-car revival that we can only hope Fiat Chrysler will bring to fruition. Alfa Romeo

Alfa Romeo stepped into relevance and the modern era when it launched the Giulia and Stelvio a few years ago, and most everything it's done since has revolved around those two models.
