This Audi RS4 Avant Is Forbidden Fruit You Can Actually Eat
Apr. 11, 2019 9:01 AM ET by Jay Traugott For Sale / 10 Comments Don't worry, it's been federalized for American roads. The only Audi A4 wagon sold in the US today is the A4 Allroad which, in our opinion, doesn't receive the attention it deserves. Wagons, in general, don't. However, sometimes all a wagon needs to gain respect is the right engine and this 2001 Audi RS4 Avant has exactly what we're looking for. Under its hood is a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 rated at 375 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. Zero to 60 mph happens in less than five seconds. And did we mention it has a six-speed manual transmission that sends that power to all four wheels? Well, it does. And we think someone reading this should buy it. Bring A Trailer is currently auctioning it off and as of this writing, the highest bid was $68,000. The seller knows what they have. And in case you're wondering, the car has been federalized so it's completely legal to drive on American roads. Originally, it was imported to Japan and later brought to Canada in 2016. Its previous owner has also done a number of modifications, such as adding Audi sport ceramic brakes, 19-inch Rotiform wheels, Wagner intercoolers, and H&R coilovers. It's obvious this power wagon has been very well cared for by the photos alone, and it also comes with over $14,000 worth of receipts of recent maintenance details, including A/C service, new timing chains and tensioners, engine mounts, seals and gaskets, and control arms. Its new owner will also have immediate bragging rights because it's already set to be featured in the next issue of Quattro Magazine, a publication dedicated to – what else – Audi performance. Compared to the 2001 model year S4, the RS4 was also given widened wheel arches, more aggressive side skirts, unique front and rear bumpers, and even a rear spoiler. This particular RS4 Avant is painted in Avus Silver and even comes with a roof rack. The car has also been lowered and given a set of yellow-painted brake calipers sourced from an R8. The interior features Recaro sport seats trimmed in black leather and the three-spoke steering wheel is wrapped in Alcantara. There's even a sunroof because there just has to be. There's still some time left until the auction ends, but definitely be prepared to shell out some serious money for this rare find. Join The Discussion
