Audi RS7-R Revealed With More Power Than A Lamborghini Aventador

Apr. 03, 2020 10:00 AM ET by Martin Bigg Tuning / 17 Comments That's more power than you get in a Lamborghini Aventador. Audi tuner ABT Sportsline has been busy extracting more power from the German automaker's latest RS performance machines. Earlier this month, the aftermarket tuner unveiled a new tuning package that increases the output of the Audi RS6, RS7, and RS Q8 to an impressive 700 horsepower and 649 lb-ft of torque. If that still isn't enough for you to handle, ABT launched a new limited-edition tuning package for the Audi RS7 that offers even more absurd levels of power. Say hello to the Audi RS7-R.
In stock form, the 2020 Audi RS7's 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 pumps out 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, but ABT's modifications have increased the output to a staggering 740 horsepower and 678 lb-ft of torque - that's more power than you get in a Lamborghini Aventador S supercar. ABT Sportsline ABT Sportsline ABT Sportsline ABT hasn't revealed the 0-62 mph time, but it should be quicker than the standard RS7, which is good for a sprint to 62 mph from a standstill in 3.6 seconds and max out at 190 mph. To transfer all this extra power to the road, ABT offers two suspension upgrades tailed specifically for the RS7-R, featuring ABT coilover suspension springs and sports anti-roll bars. To complement the Audi RS7-R's power boost, ABT has also fitted a series of carbon-fiber add-ons that give the exterior a more striking appearance, including a front grille frame, front spoiler lip, rear spoiler, and a rear diffuser. The modified Audi RS-R also sits on custom 22-inch wheels. Further optional extras such as an extended interior package or the optionally available 22-inch ABT HR Aero wheels can be found in the ABT Configurator. Only 125 examples of the Audi RS7-R will be built, one of which has been made for a German racing driver, and is shown in the accompanying photos. It's distinguished by a special body wrap and orange accents, along with painted brake calipers and 22-inch wheels. The center console is also adorned an engraving that reads "Handcrafted for DA".
