Hyundai' s Latest Customer Initiative Is Extremely Generous

Apr. 05, 2020 4:05 PM ET by Jay Traugott Industry News / 5 Comments Class act all the way, Hyundai. America's unemployment rate rose to 4.4 percent last week due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and efforts put into place to contain it. With everyone forced to stay at home and maintain social distance, millions of jobs have been lost and more are likely to come. Waiting for unemployment and surplus checks to arrive will take some time, but the bills keep on coming. But Hyundai is doing its part to help customers during this extremely troublesome time. The automaker has just announced it has extended its warranty policy for not only the US but worldwide. Hyundai owners with a 5-year/60,000-mile new vehicle warranty or a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty that were originally set to expire between March and June 2020 will have that coverage extended through June 30, 2020. CarBuzz CarBuzz CarBuzz Hyundai Hyundai already claimed to have "America's Best Warranty" and this extension is aimed to help those currently facing any sort of difficulties in getting their vehicles serviced because of COVID-19 restrictions. Eligible owners will soon be notified of this extension. "This is another great example of how we have our customer's back and continue to reinforce America's Best Warranty," said Hyundai chief customer officer Barry Ratzlaff. "While most Hyundai dealers are open to provide service, we want our customers to feel comfortable visiting their dealerships for warranty work and any vehicle service." Hyundai Hyundai Hyundai Those who recently purchased a new Hyundai Sonata or Santa Fe, for example, obviously have nothing to worry about for the next several years. Their warranties are fresh. This global warranty extension will account for over 1.2 million vehicles in 175 countries, Hyundai claims. However, it also adds the extensions could vary between countries. Because so many facilities, such as automotive service centers, are being forced to shut down due to COVID-19 by governments who've deemed them non-essential, Hyundai owners seeking repairs just before their warranties were set to expire wouldn't have been possible. This month-long extension will certainly help many and we wouldn't be surprised to this extended again if circumstances deem it necessary. Hyundai Hyundai Hyundai
