The 2021 Mercedes S-Class isn't the only big luxury car debut happening this year. After being on sale for over a decade, the Rolls-Royce Ghost is finally being replaced. Over the past few months, camouflaged prototypes of the redesigned luxury limo have been caught undergoing testing, enabling talented artist Nikita Chuyko to create an accurate-looking digital render. Based on the spy shots and the design language of the Phantom and Cullinan, there's a very good chance the rendered design looks close to the final design. As we expected, the second-generation Rolls-Royce Ghost will receive an evolutionary design update since the previous model is one of the company's best-selling models. Likewise, the taillight design will also be inspired by the Phantom. Essentially, it will look like a smaller version of the flagship Phantom. The artist hasn't rendered the interior, but we already know what the opulent cabin will look like thanks to previous spy shots. Expect the dashboard to be inspired by the Cullinan, with upgrades including a fully digital driver's display and a large infotainment screen. Underpinning the new Rolls-Royce Ghost will be the automaker's new aluminum platform, which should make the luxury limo significantly lighter, agile, and more refined than its 11-year old predecessor. CarBuzz CarBuzz CarBuzz While the current Ghost is powered by a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V12, the second-generation model is expected to use a 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 with 563 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque, which will be sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new Rolls-Royce Ghost is expected to debut in the second half of this year, but it could be delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Rolls-Royce will want to launch the new Ghost as soon as possible, however, to keep up its sales momentum after achieving record sales last year.
