New BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe Will Look Exactly Like This

Apr. 19, 2020 5:15 PM ET by Martin Bigg Design / 32 Comments The bold new look is sure to be controversial. There have been countless sightings of the new BMW 4 Series Coupe, 4 Series Convertible, and M4 over the last few months, as prototypes have been spied undergoing testing. Leaked photos have also shown the new 4 Series completely undisguised, exposing its new giant kidney grille inspired by the BMW Concept 4. Then there's the next-generation BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe. We've only seen camouflaged prototypes of the new 4 Series Gran Coupe so far, but since the BMW i4 will essentially be an electric version of the 4 Series Gran Coupe, it isn't difficult to imagine what it will look like when the covers come off. This has enabled artist Zer.o.wt to create an accurate render showing how the design of the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe will evolve. https://www.instagram.com/p/B--JnGUqM3p/ Zer.o.wt / Instagram Zer.o.wt / Instagram The artist has used the BMW Concept i4's four-door fastback body as a foundation but removed some of the exterior elements exclusive to the EV such as the closed-off grille, blue accents, and unique wheels. To distinguish the new 4 Series Gran Coupe from the 3 Series Sedan, BMW has added a significantly larger kidney grille, which was divisive when it was applied to the BMW Concept 4. Judging from spy shots and leaked photos, we wouldn't be surprised if the final production model looks a lot like these render designs. The artist has also shown off the new 4 Series Gran Coupe from the rear in a variety of eye-catching colors. BMW is also reportedly considering introducing an M4 Gran Coupe to the lineup, but nothing is official yet. The 2021 BMW 4 Series is expected to break cover in June, so the new 4 Series Gran Coupe will likely debut later this year or early next year. You can also check out the new BMW coupes.
