We Have Great News About The Kia Stinger

According to EPA reports, the Genesis G70 will soon receive the Hyundai Group's newest four-cylinder turbocharged engine. A 2.5-liter mill producing 300 horsepower will replace the current 2.0-liter engine, which produces 255 hp. This is the same engine that will be used in a variety of upcoming Hyundai Group cars including the Hyundai Sonata N-Line, Kia Optima GT, Genesis G80, and Genesis GV80 and according to a new rumor, there is another car that could be getting this new engine as well. The Kia Stinger is currently powered by either a 2.0-liter turbo-four with 255 hp or a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 in the GT model producing 365 hp. Rumors indicate that the 2.0-liter will soon be replaced but the V6 engine will remain. Kia Kia Kia A heavily camouflaged Stinger test mule was recently spotted sporting massive quad exhaust pipes, leading us to believe that these rumors are accurate. This facelifted Stinger will likely see visual changes and some technology upgrades inside but we are more interested in what's under the hood. If the rumors regarding the 2.5-liter turbo-four are correct, the base Stinger will jump by around 45 hp. As for the larger V6 GT model, it doesn't sound like the 3.3-liter mill will be replaced by the new 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 that is set to be used in the G80 and GV80. Kia CarBuzz Instead of using the 3.5-liter V6, Kia will increase the power of its 3.3-liter engine with a bi-modal exhaust system. Factory exhaust systems can typically add anywhere from five to 10 hp, so the facelifted Stinger GT could be in the ballpark of 370 to 375 hp. This is shy of the 380-hp figure found in the new 3.5-liter V6 but it is still nice to see an improvement, no matter how small.
