$780 000 Porsche Gemballa Mirage GT SMASHED Beyond Recognition

With most of the United States under stay-at-home orders, the roads are pretty empty, even in New York City. We would take advantage of the empty streets to take a nice scenic drive but unfortunately, some people have more nefarious thoughts. According to several reports, Ben Chen, supercar collector and co-founder of the Gold Rush Rally, is alleged to be involved in a serious crash near the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of NYC. You may notice that the car he was driving is not an ordinary Porsche Carrera GT but is, in fact, a Gemballa Mirage GT. This is a supercar that cost around $780,000 when it was new, and is likely worth even more today. It was powered by a 5.7-liter V10 that was tuned to deliver more than 650 horsepower, which is more than a brand-new Porsche 911 Turbo S. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-r2lTdBLMu/ ronniecnyc via Instagram ronniecnyc via Instagram ronniecnyc via Instagram Several videos were captured on Instagram showing the extent of the accident. It begins with the car losing control and smashing into the back end of a parked Toyota Sienna minivan. Instead of getting out of the car, Chen speeds away from the incident, with the car's hood and other components flying off in the process as the supercar struggled to drag one or more of its wheels. The cause of the incident is currently unknown and the Mirage GT is believed to be number 23 of 25 ever produced, and the only one in North Amerca. We can only speculate as to why the driver crashed and why they decided to speed off afterward. Remember, the Porsche Carrera GT has a known reputation for being difficult to drive at the limit, and is the car Paul Walker and Roger Rodas died in.
