Hyundai Prophecy Looks Spectacular In The Metal

Even the humble Hyundai Elantra features radical, eye-catching styling after its latest refresh, and the company's concept designs are even more beautiful. Take the Hyundai Prophecy, for example. This stunning EV concept was set to debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show but was revealed online due to the event's cancelation. The Prophecy's design pickups up where the Hyundai 45 Concept left off, this time offering futuristic styling rather than a retro shape. It seems unlikely that Hyundai will build the Prophecy exactly as you see the concept version but we hope an electric car like this will reach production in some capacity. The Prophecy looked utterly breathtaking in Hyundai's official press photos but the car looks even more amazing in real life with Hyundai Motor Group's Chief Design Officer Luc Donckerwolke giving a walkaround. Hyundai Hyundai Hyundai Hyundai Donckerwolke begins on the exterior, showing the design that was inspired by vintage cars of the 1920s and '30s. The Prophecy follows Hyundai's design identity - Sensuous Sportiness - and was named to convey that this isn't just a concept car, it will inspire the company's future design language. The car's coupe-like shape and massive rear spoiler give off a sporty, almost 911-like appearance and those propeller-shaped wheels aren't just for show, they reduce air resistance to improve the driving range. Hyundai Hyundai Hyundai Hyundai We could stare at the Prophecy's exterior all day long but the interior is even more outrageous (in a good way). Instead of a traditional steering wheel, the Prophecy is controlled using dual joysticks located to the left and right of the driver. Saab actually tried a similar idea a few decades ago and based on the results, we doubt the joysticks will reach production anytime soon. Hyundai says the interior is designed so all of the car's functions can be controlled just using the joysticks, so drivers never need to take their hands off of the controls. Although it may not look exactly like the Prophecy, Hyundai will build an amazing EV using its Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) in the near future. Hyundai Hyundai Hyundai Hyundai Hyundai
