There' s New Information About The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye

A sponsored post from the official Dodge Facebook account indicated a Charger SRT hellcat Redeye was coming. It didn't say when exactly, but someone at Dodge realized the mistake and the post was quickly removed. Dodge chose not to comment on the matter any further, but this did confirm one of the worst-kept secrets in Detroit. The Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye, a sedan version of the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is happening and it seemed, at the very least, a concept version was due to appear at this year's now-canceled LX Spring Fest in California. A 2020 production-version launch date was also likely, but not anymore. Fortunately, Mopar Insiders has learned from sources familiar with the matter that Dodge has pushed back that debut until 2021, though which month is still a mystery. FCA FCA FCA FCA Like its Challenger counterpart, the Charger Redeye will feature slightly modified styling with a larger hood scoop being the most prominent element. But it's under the hood where the most dramatic changes occur. The 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V8 will boast a total of 797 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque. The Challenger Demon's cold-intake system is another critical component. Like the updated for 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, the Redeye will be widebody only. Expect Redeye badges throughout the exterior as well. FCA FCA FCA FCA Although many prefer the looks of the more aggressive Charger widebody, it does come with a drawback: top speed. While the widebody does achieve a faster quarter-mile time, the pre-widebody 2019 Charger Hellcat has a top speed of 204 mph. The widebody kit drops that figure to 196 mph. Chances are, the Charger Redeye will bring back that 204 mph top speed. So, when is the Charger Redeye's new debut date? There's a good chance that'll be happening this summer at the annual FCA "What's New Event."
