One of the models we were expecting to debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show was the new Mini Countryman facelift. We've seen prototypes being tested since last summer. As the new Mini Countryman's debut has been delayed until later this year, the automaker has had the chance to perform some additional testing at the Nurburgring. Our spies managed to snap some new photos of the Mini Countryman S facelift lapping the Green Hell during an industry test pool session, revealing some new details. CarBuzz CarBuzz CarBuzz Compared to our last sighting, the Mini Countryman S prototype has less camouflage at the front, giving us a clearer look at the redesigned front bumper with new air intakes but the grille is still covered up. More revealing photos sent by our spies also show the regular Mini Countryman with even less camouflage, revealing the new grille design featuring horizontal slats instead of vertical ones. At the back, a previous spy shot of the Mini Countryman facelift undisguised gave us a clear look at the new taillights with distinctive Union Jack graphics and redesigned rear bumper. Expect the Mini Countryman facelift's cabin to be upgraded with a fully digital instrument cluster as seen in the electric Mini Cooper SE, a new gear selector, and the latest infotainment software. There's no word yet if the Mini Countryman will get any powertrain upgrades, but chances are the current car's engine options will be retained. Under the hood, the current Mini Countryman is powered by a 1.5-liter turbo inline-3 engine with 134 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque, while the Cooper S version has a 2.0-liter turbo inline-four gasoline producing 189 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque.
