Chevrolet NEEDS To Offer The C8 Corvette In This Color

Companies have developed body kits that make the mid-engine Corvette look even more like an exotic while tuners like Hennessey have already increased the power to hit over 200 mph. But an automotive repair shop in Maryland called Pure Automotive Performance had other plans for its Shadow Gray Metallic Corvette. The shop may have chosen an understated color for the Corvette but as a specialist in bodywork and paint, it didn't plan to keep it that way. Brady Johnson, the owner of the car, wanted to make his car stand out from the crowd with a bright new paint job. Pure Automotive Performance Pure Automotive Performance Pure Automotive Performance Johnson has stressed that what you see here is a complete respray, not a wrap (though that would have been much easier and less expensive). Pure Automotive Performance published a series of videos showing the Corvette's transformation from understated Shadow Gray to eye-catching Spitfire Green. Along the way, the shop also fitted a new set of wheels and developed a new exhaust system. Respraying the car required the shop to take off nearly every body panel, leaving the 'Vette looking a lot like a mid-engined Exocet. No price tag was given for the respray but the labor of taking the car apart alone should be pretty expensive. C8 owners have reported quality issues with the car including errors with the sticking and paint imperfections, so this new paint job may actually be an improvement over GM's handiwork. We think the repainted Corvette looks fantastic and Johnson will likely receive a ton of attention at car shows when they finally become safe to attend.
