2021 BMW 4 Series Tries On Sporty M Performance Parts

Jun. 03, 2020 8:01 AM ET by Martin Bigg Luxury / 31 Comments Does the BMW 4 Series look better with these sporty M Performance parts? After several revealing leaks, the all-new 2021 BMW 4 Series Coupe finally made its world debut this week. Previewed by the controversial BMW 4 Series Concept last year, the new 4 Series gets a dramatic new look to distinguish it from its 3 Series sibling with a massive grille that stretches vertically across almost the entire height of the front fascia. While we'll have to learn to live with the polarizing grille, BMW will let you add a selection of sporty exterior enhancements. When the 2021 BMW 4 Series goes on sale this October, it will be available with a comprehensive range of M Performance parts that the Bavarian carmaker has wasted no time sharing. BMW BMW At the front, the 2021 BMW 4 Series can be fitted with a carbon fiber front splitter, air intake and grille surrounds, and canards. Carbon fiber side skirts and blacked-out graphics on the doors enhance the profile. For the first time, the new BMW 4 Series can also be fitted with red brake calipers as part of the M Performance Parts braking system. Moving to the rear, customers can add a carbon fiber trunk spoiler and diffuser, as well as a blacked-out BMW M badge, taillights, and exhaust pipes. Inside, the cabin can be kitted out with an available M Performance steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara and leather, carbon-fiber shift paddles, carbon-fiber weave on the dashboard, and M Performance badging. BMW BMW Pricing for the M Performance parts hasn't been announced yet but adding these lightweight performance parts will increase the 2021 BMW 4 Series' starting price of $45,600. For the photoshoot, BMW dressed up the M440i XDrive in M Performance parts. This version is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six that produces 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque with the help of a 48-volt starter-generator. Power is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission, enabling the sports coupe to sprint from 0-62 mph in 4.3 seconds. BMW BMW BMW BMW
