Nissan' s First Electric SUV Will Look Way Cooler Than A Tesla Model Y

Back at the 2019 Tokyo Auto Show, Nissan revealed a new concept vehicle called the Ariya. Meant to be the next electric model after the Nissan Leaf, the Ariya looked pretty close to production-ready during its concept debut. The second-generation Leaf is a much more handsome vehicle than the model it replaced but the Ariya takes the Nissan brand in an entirely new styling direction that we say looks great. The concept was already pretty realistic but digital artist Kleber Silva has imaged what a full production model might look like. If this is what the production Ariya ends up looking like, Nissan could have a strong competitor to the Kia Niro EV and Hyundai Kona Electric. Kleber Silva Kleber Silva It is highly probable that Nissan will put the Ariya into production. The automaker seemed pretty coy on the matter when it was revealed but the Ariya seemingly appears in a teaser video of upcoming new models. This rendering throws on a flashy shade of blue paint, more conventional wheels, fog lights, and some other minor changes, but for the most part, sticks true with Nissan's original design. Unlike most concept vehicles, the Ariya didn't have any outrageous styling details like camera side-view mirrors, flush door handles, or suicide rear doors, so there wasn't too much to change with this rendering. Nissan Nissan Nissan The interior will likely be more conventional than the images included below but we wouldn't be surprised if Nissan changes very little on the exterior when the Ariya reaches production. The Ariya is expected to ride on an all-new EV platform with dual electric motors paired with Nissan's new e-4ORCE all-wheel control technology. This new system can distribute torque 100 percent to the front or rear, much like the GT-R, improving cornering ability and stability.
