Watch The Ferrari SF90 Stradale Blast Through Monaco' s Empty Streets

Last month, Ferrari provided us with a sneak peek of its new short film starring the Ferrari SF90 Stradale as it raced through the empty streets of Monaco. With nearly 1,000 horsepower on hand, the V8-powered hybrid supercar had never before been tested on the road until this opportunity presented itself. With this year's Monaco Grand Prix F1 race canceled (for the first time in 66 years) due to the coronavirus pandemic, Ferrari still wanted to celebrate the event somehow, so it called up its own F1 racing driver, Charles Leclerc and French movie director Claude Lelouch. The pair, along with a film crew, Ferrari officials, and even HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, came together to shoot the short film Le Grand Rendez-Vous, a remake of sorts of the 1976 film C'etait un Rendez-Vous, also directed by Lelouch, and featured a Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL 6.9. We previously saw a 60-second preview of the new film and today Ferrari has released the completed product. Ferrari Ferrari Ferrari Shooting took place in the early morning of May 24, the day the Monaco Grand Prix was originally set to be held. A film crew of 17 people handled the complex cameras used to capture the supercar's incredible capabilities while a team of six engineers and technicians were dispatched from Maranello for back up. As he lapped the course through his hometown, Leclerc also picked up a couple of passengers, the first being none other than Prince Albert himself, followed by Rebecca Blanc-Lelouch, the beautiful florist seen at the film's beginning and end. She also happens to be the director's granddaughter. Ferrari Ferrari Ferrari Because of the lockdown, the principality's streets were already closed to all unnecessary traffic, a fact which surely made things easy for the film crew. But the shoot also provided residents with some much-needed entertainment during difficult times. Although the roar of single-seat F1 cars cutting through the streets didn't happen this year, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale was perhaps the next best thing. Ferrari Ferrari Ferrari Ferrari
