A New 250-MPH Hypercar Is Coming

Jun. 06, 2020 6:26 AM ET by Michael Butler Design / 6 Comments And it's called the Naran. It seems as if everyone is throwing their hat in the hypercar race these days. With little-known cars such as the Spyros Panopoulos Automotive Chaos from Greece, as well as the Czinger 21C, and SSC Tuatara from the United States, legacy supercar brands are being put in check. These cars are all out on the hunt for established cars such as the Bugatti Chiron, and by the sound of things, aren't too far off. We're happy to announce that yet another contender has entered the hypercar ring, and is set to ruffle some well-established feathers when it eventually makes its debut. The name of this new machine is the Naran, and it is set to go on sale in mid-August. Naran Automotive Naran Automotive Naran Automotive This car will be Naran Automotive's first ever road-going car. Naran Automotiver is funded by Indian-Zimbabwean businessman Ahmeer Naran, and is supported by Steve Pegg, ex Jaguar Landrover engineer. So you know we can trust him. Jowyn Wong, the designer of the Apollo IE also has a hand in this story. The end product should be impressive if this team is anything to go by. The Naran, which is currently being pushed through the final stages of development is undergoing top-speed and handling tests at the famous Imola and Nurburgring tracks. Once ready, only 49 examples will be offered for sale. Czinger SSC America SSC America SSC America The juicy details include mentions of a twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing a claimed 1,034 hp. Power will be sent to all four wheels, and Naran proudly claims a zero to sixty sprint time of only 2.1 seconds, a 0-100 mph dash of 4.5 seconds, and a top speed of between 230 and 250 mph. The exterior design features a low nose, massive rear wing, and broad front intakes that flow into a venturi-like tunnel as found on the Aston Martin Valkyrie. According to Naran Automotive, its car will be built out of a blend of carbon fiber and natural flax, which should keep its curb weight beneath 3,300 pounds. Will it be able to take the fight to the big boys? Only time will tell. Aston Martin Aston Martin Aston Martin Aston Martin Source Credits: Auto Express
