This Could Be A Cheap Way To Own A 2020 Corvette Stingray

Jul. 31, 2020 2:11 PM ET by Martin Bigg Auctions / 6 Comments But there's a catch. With production significantly reduced due to the pandemic, the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray could become a future collector's car. Chevrolet was originally planning to build 20,000 C8 Corvettes, but production shutdowns have made this impossible. Consequently, customers who ordered a 2020 Corvette may have to wait until the 2021 model year to get behind the wheel of Chevrolet's new mid-engine masterpiece. With demand outstripping supply, dealer markups have also skyrocketed - it's not uncommon to find 2020 Chevrolet Corvettes selling for over twice the $59,995 MSRP. But if you can't wait until the 2021 model year, there is now a cheaper way to own a 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Copart Copart Copart Listed for sale on Copart is a white 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 3LT. From some angles, it appears to be in great condition - until you look at the rear. Sadly, this C8 Corvette has seen better days, as it looks like it was rear-ended. The circumstances of the accident are unknown, but it must have been a severe impact to cause such colossal damage to the rear bumper. Luckily, the crashed Corvette's 6.2-liter V8 engine is undamaged, so there's a good chance the car can still be salvaged. Copart Copart Copart There's no auction estimate, but Copart claims this Corvette Stingray 3LT has an estimated retail value of $112,121 so the owner has clearly loaded it with optional extras. The Corvette had clocked up just 871 miles before it was involved in an accident. If the mid-engine sports car can be restored to its former glory, someone could get their hands on a 2020 Corvette for a bargain price, but it certainly won't be cheap to repair. This isn't the only crumpled Corvette you can buy. Last month, a red 2020 Corvette was wrecked at a dealership after it fell off a support lift and is also being auctioned off by Copart.
