Damaged 2020 Corvette Stingray Could Be A Wise Investment

Aug. 17, 2020 1:51 PM ET by Martin Bigg For Sale / 13 Comments Let's hope someone can save it. Deliveries for the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray started earlier this year. Sadly, not every example has been treated with the care they deserve. We've seen several crashed 2020 Corvettes listed for sale on Copart, and now another one is looking for someone to restore it back to its former glory. Finished in white, this scrapped 2020 Corvette Stingray is located in Tampa, Florida. We don't know what exactly happened to this C8 Corvette or if the original owner was at fault, but it's suffered extensive damage from what must have been a nasty accident. Copart Copart Copart At the front, the right side of the bumper has been torn off and the front fascia is badly damaged. Both rear wheels are also wrecked, so we wouldn't be surprised if the suspension components were damaged during the accident, and the rear bumper is also damaged. One consolation is that the C8 Corvette's 6.2-liter V8 doesn't appear to have suffered any damage. Before this C8 Corvette was destroyed, the mid-engine sports car had clocked up just 2,118 miles according to the odometer. While the damage is comprehensive, this C8 Corvette looks salvageable, but it won't be cheap to repair. Copart Copart Copart Let's hope the car's next owner has the resources to restore this damaged C8 Corvette back to its former glory. There's no auction estimate, but Copart claims the car has an estimated retail value of $79,591, which suggests the original owner didn't show much restraint when browsing the options list. It's also based on the top-trim 3LT model.
Even if the repair costs are steep, whoever becomes the car's next owner could be making a wise investment. Production of the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray was cut back due to the global pandemic, so there's a good chance it will become a collector's car in the future. Copart Copart Copart
