New Batmobile Looks Badass In ' The Batman' Trailer
Aug. 24, 2020 7:26 AM ET by Martin Bigg Movies & TV / 11 Comments What do you think of the new Batmobile's design? Ever since we saw the first photos of the new Batmobile that will star in 'The Batman', we've been eager to see it in action. During the recent DC Fandome event, comic book fans were spoiled with new trailers of upcoming superhero movies including 'The Suicide Squad' and 'Wonder Woman 1984'. But the film we're most interested in is 'The Batman'. In the first teaser trailer for 'The Batman', we get our first look at the brand new Batmobile, and its design is a lot different to the Tumbler used in recent Batman movies. Whereas the Tumbler was effectively an unstoppable armored tank, the new Batmobile looks like a modified muscle car that's more grounded in reality. Warner Bros. Pictures Warner Bros. Pictures Warner Bros. Pictures It's a more discrete take on the iconic Batmobile and a more believable choice of car for a superhero who wants to lurk in the shadows. As we saw in photos taken from filming earlier this year, the design of the new Batmobile appears to be inspired by classic American muscle cars like the Ford Mustang and Dodge Charger, with some Mad Max-style modifications that make it look extremely menacing. According to director Matt Reeves, it took around a year to design the new Batmobile and Batsuit. We also get a brief look at the Batmobile's exposed rear-mounted engine and jet propulsion system that should give it insane levels of performance to chase bad guys. Warner Bros. This is a grittier, more unhinged version of The Dark Knight during his early crime-fighting years - just watch the scene where he brutally beats up a street gang member and continues to mercilessly punch them in the face.Directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Colin Farrell, Paul Dano, The Batman will release in theatres on October 1, 2021.
