Someone Has Already Tried To Redesign The 2021 BMW M4

Aug. 26, 2020 7:51 AM ET by Martin Bigg Design / 21 Comments Do you think the BMW M4 looks better in these designs? The 2021 BMW M4 hasn't broken cover yet, but thanks to spy shots and the recent reveal of the regular 2021 BMW 4 Series, we already have a good idea what it will look like. This has resulted in accurate renders of the new M4, providing us with a good idea of what the production model will look like when the covers come off in September. A different approach, however, has been taken with this particular rendering. Like the regular 4 Series, the new M4's design is going to be divisive. It all stems from BMW's new enlarged kidney grille design applied to the new 4 Series, M4, and M3. Zer.o.wt / Instagram Zer.o.wt / Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CEPgzywKSL3/ This helps distinguish the 4 Series from the 3 Series more clearly, but even the original designer of the BMW X5 doesn't like the gaping grille. These latest renders envision three new design directions for the 2021 M4. The changes are subtle, but they make a huge improvement. In the first render, the M4's grille is wider and more angular, but no longer stretches vertically across the entire height of the front end. This has made room for a new front air intake to be positioned below it that makes the front look more aggressive. This alternative grille looks sporty yet still stands out from other BMW models, so it's a shame BMW didn't consider any alternative designs. In the second photo, the artist has slapped a license plate on the front. Fitting the license plate to the grille never looked right on the 4 Series, but this redesigned M4's license plate has moved to the front bumper, which looks a lot less jarring. Finally, the third photo adds a widebody kit to the new M4 to make it look even more muscular. Would you be happy if the new M4 looked like these renders? Carbuzz Carbuzz
