This Is What The New Nissan Rogue Sport Will Look Like

The Nissan Rogue Sport was updated for the 2020 model year with a minor refresh, but recent spy shots of a new prototype confirmed that Nissan is already preparing a replacement with a more modern appearance akin to the new Nissan Rogue. While the prototype was heavily camouflaged, we could see that the all-new Nissan Rogue Sport will borrow design cues from the new Nissan Juke. Using these spy shots and the regular Rogue as a reference, artist Nikita Chuiko has created what is likely to be an accurate render of the new Nissan Rogue Sport. Nikita Chuyko Nikita Chuyko At the front, the artist has added partially-split headlights and a V-Motion grille matching the design language of other recent Nissan models. Redesigned taillights have also been added to the rear for a sleeker look. Judging from the recent spy shots and Nissan's own teaser, the render designs look accurate, but we'll have to wait until the new Rogue Sport is revealed to find out. The cabin hasn't been rendered, but we're expecting the interior to be upgraded with larger screens and updated safety tech. Since the new Nissan Rogue Sport will reportedly ride on the same platform, the proportions look very similar to the current model, but the styling tweaks help modernize the compact crossover. CarBuzz CarBuzz Despite using the same platform, the new Nissan Rogue Sport will be offered with new mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. This will make the new Nissan Rogue Sport more efficient than the current model, which uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 141 horsepower and 147 lb-ft of torque in the US model. In Europe, the Nissan Rogue Sport is sold as the Nissan Qashqai. Rumors suggest the electrified powertrains will spawn the death of the diesel engine option for Europe's Nissan Qashqai. The new Nissan Qashqai is expected to debut later this year and go on sale in 2021, but US availability of the new Nissan Rogue Sport hasn't been confirmed yet. CarBuzz CarBuzz CarBuzz
