That makes the caption all the more perplexing.
"The cold start on this is a lot louder than the Trackhawk," hydrotrx writes. "We will have to see how it sounds dumping from the cats." Why, after all, would someone working on the TRX program be planning to cut the exhaust upstream of the mufflers on a pre-production example? Or are they joking? We can only guess.
Ram Ram Ram Like countless other vehicle programs, the new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX was delayed by the global pandemic, pushing the start of production back to the fourth quarter of 2020. It's the first truck for volume production to mount a credible threat aimed at the Ford F-150 Raptor, with some 252 additional horsepower - enough to make it the most powerful production pickup truck in the world. You might think that that sort of raw, raucous fun would be limited to a small number of units, but that's not the case; according to Ram 1500 Senior Brand Manager Carl Lally, FCA will build just as many TRXs as it can sell.

Sep. 03, 2020 12:50 PM ET by Aaron Brzozowski Trucks / 7 Comments Sure, we've heard Hellcat V8s before. This is different. Very little about the new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX should surprise us. It is, after all, essentially just a Ram 1500 with some off-road mods and the same supercharged V8 that powers Dodge's SRT Hellcat models wedged under the hood. Yet even still, there's something about actually hearing the TRX come to life that still manages to captivate. This week, someone on Instagram by the name of "hydrotrx" uploaded a brief video clip depicting a cold start in the new Ram 1500 TRX - FCA's Ford F-150 Raptor-fighter. Even though it's the same engine we've already grown accustomed to in other high-powered FCA products, it still feels special.View this post on Instagram The cold start on this is a lot louder than the Trackhawk.
