New Mercedes-AMG Experience Center Is State-Of-The-Art

Aug. 24, 2020 9:21 AM ET by Martin Bigg Sports Cars / Comments A dealership that lets you drive GT4 racing cars sounds good to us. If you want to experience the full potential of the mighty Mercedes-AMG GT R, a short test drive around local roads with speed limits isn't going to cut it. At the Zhejiang International Circuit in Shaoxing, China, Mercedes-AMG has opened its first-ever Experience Center, allowing potential customers to take the German automaker's performance cars for a spin around the 1.9-mile long race track. An extensive selection of the latest Mercedes-AMG models are available for test drives and driving events on the circuit. As well as road cars, visitors can even get behind the wheel of Mercedes-AMG GT3 and GT4 race cars, which is a unique opportunity. Mercedes-AMG Mercedes-AMG Mercedes-AMG In addition, the Zhejiang International Circuit also offers monthly track days, where enthusiasts can use their own vehicles or AMG cars booked from the center. Building on Mercedes-AMG's existing Performance and Brand Centers, the new Experience Center spans around 4,281 square feet, located next to the Zhejiang International Circuit. This isn't your typical car showroom: there are twelve functional areas and four display areas across two floors, allowing visitors to "discover for themselves the many facets of Driving Performance." Stepping inside the state-of-the-art showroom on the ground floor provides a complete history of Mercedes-AMG, showcasing vehicles and technologies both physically and digitally using VR technology. Mercedes-AMG Mercedes-AMG Mercedes-AMG Specially trained AMG experts are also on hand to provide visitors with detailed information and put them in touch with their local AMG retailer if they are interested in buying a model on display. The ground floor also features a lounge and an AMG shop with lifestyle accessories. Upstairs, the interactive experience zone on the first floor is a motorsport fan's dream come true, featuring racing simulators and AR applications "set among the successes of the AMG Customer Racing Teams." There's even a slot car race track that can be controlled through brainwaves. The Mercedes-AMG Experience Center is currently only open at the Zhejiang International Circuit in China, which is around a two-hour drive from Shanghai. We'll have to wait and see if Mercedes-AMG plans to expand the Experience Center to other locations. Mercedes-AMG Mercedes-AMG Mercedes-AMG Mercedes-AMG
