This Baywatch Dodge Challenger Is A Muscle Wagon For The Beach

Aug. 17, 2020 5:10 PM ET by Michael Butler Design / 15 Comments This is one cool surfboard-carrying lifesaver. The Dodge Challenger is one of the most beloved retro muscle cars around. This car personifies clean yet muscular body design, and is a modern American icon, but what if you need some more cargo space, or perhaps some room for a few surfboards and lifesaving medical equipment? Well, look no further, because the Baywatch Challenger is here, and it's ready to party and save lives. The Sketch Monkey, who is famous for creations such as the redesigned version of the Viper GTS is back at it with another weird and wonderful creation, and we think this one is beach-ready. YouTube/TheSketchMonkey The Sketch Monkey starts off with a regular Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock which will eventually turn into what we would consider being a shooting brake. "When you look at this car, it looks like it was almost made to become a wagon," says the monkey as he chops the roof off of the car and starts the design process. The Sketch Monkey then asks the question, why would a lifesaver need a 700 -plus horsepower car to patrol the beaches? His answer is that a solo lifeguard would need to get to the action as quickly as possible. Sounds good to us. The design progresses with the addition of a set of surfboards on the roof and a bit of dirt to illustrate that this is a hard-working machine. The words "surf's up" get added to the rear quarter of the car. YouTube/TheSketchMonkey YouTube/TheSketchMonkey The Challenger is seen standing on a beach which we think is a bit of a risky scenario as this rear-wheel-drive car with slick sports tires would, in reality, get stuck faster than Pamela could jog from the lifeguard hut down to the water's edge. We must say the end result looks pretty awesome and could make sense if you had a strip of coastline bordered by a road that needed some fast-responding lifeguard services.
