Production Of The 2021 Chevy Camaro Has Begun

Aug. 07, 2020 6:01 PM ET by Michael Butler Muscle Cars / 23 Comments These are a few changes coming The sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro, which competes directly with the Ford Mustang, has been around since 2015 and has enjoyed a pretty successful career up until now. Despite lower than usual sales figures, this muscle car has remained one of Chevy's most beloved brands, and the good news is that it ain't going nowhere. The 2021 production run has started, and the Camaro looks better than ever. The car, which was introduced for the 2016 model year underwent a refresh in 2019 and was again given an update for the 2020 model year. Now our sources have informed us that production has started on the 2021 model year car. Chevrolet Chevrolet Chevrolet The 2021 Chevrolet Camaro will continue to be produced at the GM factory in Lansing Grand River, Michigan, which is the only plant in the world that produces the Camaro. Production of the 2020 model ended on August 5, 2020, with the new model entering production the following day on August 6. Prospective buyers will be glad to hear that the 2021 model brings with it a few notable changes such as the addition of a 10-speed automatic transmission to the SS 1LE Track Performance Package which used to be offered exclusively with a six-speed manual. The exterior also sees some changes in the form of some new color options, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will now be standard across all models. It would be a tragedy if Chevrolet doesn't continue with this legendary nameplate for a seventh generation, but we've heard rumors that the company might be looking into developing an electric version which might polarize its fan base.
